3/8/20 Any donation or tip will be used to purchase materials and create masks and face shields for first responders and doctors in NYC. I added the "MaskFilter_frameMontanaMask.stl" which can be used with the mask. It is a less complex setup allowing for more airflow. Different materials are being used with this setup, including Sterilization Wraps. 3/7/20 This design has been created after testing and examining numerous models already available. I was able to choose the best attributes from different models and apply them to one mask. It works well for me, and hopefully it will work well for many of you out there. Feel free to make your own modifications if you think they are needed and will improve the mask. Filters: We have been testing with: Sterilization wrap Vacuum Bags Laboratory Paper Filter Super Hepa Filter The idea behind this mask is to have a filtration system that is comparable to an N95 mask using materials that are available. The goal is to have a filtration process in which you have at least two filters, a pre-filter (sterilization wrap or Vacuum Bags) and the main filter (Super Hepa Filter), we might test using a third filter later. We will keep testing and posting updates here. Feel free to download and print this design and conduct your own research. We are also creating face shields for medical personnel at Montefiore Hospital. Also, any donations will be used to cover material costs and produce more face-shields for the medical workers and personnel on the front lines. We are all in this together. Notes: The Filter_Base fits tightly onto the mask; simply apply some pressure and it should fit all the way in. If you experience trouble, you can use a 220-grit sanding paper to help.
