COVID PPE Face Shield
thingiverse
This is a PPE Face Shield for COVID Response. I designed this one using common office supplies so medical professionals can use it if all else fails. The shield itself is a standard transparency film. To prepare the film for attachment to the printed parts, just punch three holes in each long end with a standard size 3 hole punch (US). To attach the film, align the center hole first and work your way outwards to the corners. On the headband portion, attach the retainer clip after inserting the film using the same method. It should snap into place easily. The retainer is designed to stay in place during normal operation due to its geometry. The male piece ensures the curvature of the thin film at the bottom. Follow the same procedure when inserting the film and retainer clip. The headband can be secured to the head using anything elastic: rubber bands, chains of hair ties, etc. The shield is designed to have the top covered (in case medical staff bend over) and allows a gap for PPE eyewear and masks. This design has been evaluated at hospitals and incorporated their feedback. Support: Only touching the buildplate. I managed to print this out in 3.5 hours using a .8mm nozzle and a layer height of .2mm. Print one PPE Headband Mk7, rotating it so that it lays flat with the front cavity facing up. Print one Bottom Piece Male, rotating it to lay flat on its side. Print two Retainer Pieces, rotating them to lay flat on their sides.
