Covid Mask - Makeup Pads - Carbon Filter

This is a simple, sturdy reusable mask made from affordable round cotton makeup pads, which you can find at your local pet store. If you want to add activated carbon between the pads for extra filtration, you're in luck - it's readily available at the pet store too! A big thank you goes out to mottleyfoo at 3dprint.nih.gov/users/mottleyfoo and 3dprint.nih.gov/discover/3dpx-013545 for sharing this design. I've tried printing a variety of masks, but this one stands out as a solid, easy-to-print option. The filters are inexpensive and effortless to replace, making it a breeze to keep your mask clean and functional. I highly recommend using ABS at 100% fill for the best results. To add an extra layer of protection, you can even attach a rubber edging - available on Amazon - but it's not strictly necessary. One of the most convenient features of this design is its removable cartridge-style receptacle, which allows you to swap out filters quickly and easily. You can have multiple cartridges on hand for instant replacement. The mask also comes equipped with adjustable buckles for 1/4 inch elastic straps, making it easy to customize the fit to your liking. My only gripe with this design is that the inside threads on the receptacle tend to get a bit stringy when printed on my Da Vinci 1.0a. However, I've found that trimming them off with an exacto knife doesn't compromise their functionality at all.
