I don't know the exact filter quality of cigarette filters - but I think it's better than just the cotton pads. An exhalation valve (check valve) is still missing. Only suitable to a limited extent for physical exertion because the filters allow inhalation. Of course, this is NOT a tested system. It is an idea to improve the filter quality of the original mask.
