COVID-19 Printer Badge

COVID-19 Printer Badge

thingiverse

For two months now, I've been operating six printers non-stop to meet the urgent need for PPE equipment among front-line healthcare workers. Simultaneously, I've been collaborating with my local high school to ensure their fleet of 40 Ender-3 printers remains operational by performing repairs, tuning, and maintenance tasks. To honor these diligent printers' contributions to the fight against COVID-19, I designed this medallion, inspired by similar ones I discovered online. Measuring 48mm x 36mm in size, with a thickness of 3mm, the part is ready for attachment to your printer using double-sided tape or epoxy glue. I printed mine in gold silk PLA to achieve a shiny finish. Using my trusty ANET A6 printer, which has undergone significant modifications, I printed these parts with a 0.4mm nozzle and 0.2mm layers. To optimize the print quality, I adjusted Simplify3D settings by specifying a 0.4mm nozzle size but a 0.37mm print width to ensure precise details.
