Covid-19 PPE Face Shield Visor
thingiverse
This is a redesign of a visor uploaded by French gentleman Thomas, whose original username I'm no longer able to find for proper accreditation. After contacting him, he gave me complete freedom to modify and use his design. My intention was to create a 3D printed face shield/visor clip that allows for rapid production. The modifications I made to the original design include: Making it thinner to reduce build time Shortening the clips to reduce material usage Adjusting the size so two units can be printed at the same time on an Ender 3 Reducing the height, which also reduces build time and ensures they are rigid enough Rounding the clips to minimize the chance of scratching or discomfort Adding minor reinforcements in high-stress areas Making it easier to stack. We've been printing these at a pair per one-hour print time. This is achieved with 5% infill, printing speed between 100 to 120 mm/s, layer height of 0.3 and extruder temperatures ranging from 245 to 250 using PLA. If the layers don't bind well, it's often due to material limitations, and the only solution is to reduce print speed. Some of our ABS prints won't go above 40mm.
