COVID-19 PPE Face Shield Printable in 35 minutes

thingiverse

A revolutionary new model that prints in approximately 35 minutes, requiring less than 5 meters of filament or a mere 15 grams. With one 2200-gram Colorfabb PLA Economy spool, you can print up to 145 full frames. Light, flexible, virtually unbreakable and more comfortable than other models, this design is a game-changer. The elastic band attachment uses a snap-on adapter that can be used with any elastic band up to 20 millimeters wide. If you don't have a standard elastic band, a hemostatic band will do the job just fine. Key printing settings include a nozzle diameter of 0.4 millimeters, perimeters printed at 3 times with a line width of 0.6 millimeters, layers set to 0.3 millimeters and a speed of 50 millimeters per second. In my case, I've found the optimal temperature settings to be 210 degrees Celsius for the nozzle and 55 degrees Celsius for the bed. The model comes with high-resolution .stl files, as well as a .step file for the frame and a PDF for the PET screen. For added comfort, I've included Frame-V10-2X-WH.stl with more room from face to shield, making it perfect for big face masks. The frames have identical mount hole paths, allowing you to swap them on the PET screen without any adjustments. By supporting this design, you're contributing to the fight against COVID-19.
