COVID-19 MASK - thin filters

thingiverse

Hello everyone! I realize that often the wearable mask in which we feel most comfortable is as lightweight and compact as possible. So, I made every effort to improve the design for thick filters (0.5 mm - mask / cotton t-shirt). I tried to make each entry point for air smaller and smaller to create space for unfiltered air around the filters. I'm excited to share this with you! I've attached the .step file and Fusion 360 file as well, if you need to make any adjustments or increase the space for your filter. Your feedback and tips are greatly appreciated! As an amateur designer, I'm not sure about the porosity of 3D printing or this construction's possible gaps. Therefore, I recommend using official products and respirators. However, as I've read, it's always better to wear something than nothing. Stay safe and use proper filters (probably the best is FFP3). Here's a nice article about filters in Spanish: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1qcUulXBupfjPoHO8ndF7U2yxTGApq1IXWNcBXVhNDRU/edit?usp=sharing. DISCLAIMER: This model has not been approved by any regulatory agency. Use it at your own risk, and only as a last resort if you don't have any other homologated protection. To protect yourself from infection with the coronavirus COVID-19, please follow these recommended measures: • Stay home and avoid contact with other people • Avoid touching your face with your hands • Wash your hands very often Note: This model only includes the mask structure (3 pieces) but does not include the required filter to effectively block the spread of the virus. Also, additional isolation measures may be necessary to properly fit the face without air gaps. Please check the comments for more information shared by other users about the types of filters that could apply to a mask with these characteristics. The effectiveness of P3 particle filters has been mentioned, and probably also HEPA 12/13, but unfortunately, we don't have the means to confirm this with guarantees. Again, we remind you to use this model at your own risk.
