COVID 19 EMERGENCY FACE SHIELD BASED ON PRUSA DESIGN
thingiverse
**USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. NO CLAIMS TO SAFETY OR EFFECTIVENESS ARE MADE OR IMPLIED.** This is a redesign of the Prusa Face Shield, created as an emergency face shield for frontline workers who need protection fast. Store-bought units may not be readily available, so this design fills that gap. Assembled easily without punching holes in clear plastic, this laminated sheet slides in from one end for simple assembly. A medical professional suggested removing the headband's small holes, which can be hard to disinfect, so I made that change too. The overall height of the sides is trimmed down as well. This design is not a remix but rather a complete overhaul since Prusa's files couldn't be used. Created in Autocad Inventor and shared with STL files, Prusa G-code, and project files, it's ready for use. **Note:** For emergency situations only, assemble this face shield using gloves, a respirator, and in a clean environment. Disinfecting may be done by spraying the mask before bagging to keep it clean. Use at your own risk; no claims are made about its cleanliness or effectiveness beyond being lightweight, easy to see through, and suitable for use with a respirator. If disinfected properly, it might be reused daily. The laminated sheet can also be easily swapped out if needed.
