For detailed instructions on assembling the face shield, read this article: https://precision-3dprinting.com/how-to-make-300-3d-printed-face-shields-in-less-than-a-week/. Here are the face shield designs we offer: 1. face_shield_nano_p3dp_fast.STL - no triangle pattern in the headband to speed up print time. 2. face_shield_nano_p3dp_v1.STL - with a sheet cover to prevent droplet contamination. 3. face_shield_nano_p3dp_v2.STL - adds face sheet locking feature, improved design based on Hospital feedback. 4. face_shield_nano_p3dp_v2_no_logo.STL - removes company logo for a more compact design. 5. face_shield_nano_p3dp_v2_stack5.STL - stacks 5 face shields together for added protection. 6. face_shield_nano_p3dp_v3_NJ.STL - reduces face to shield distance to 15mm, requested by Livingston Robotics Club LLC. 7. face_shield_nano_p3dp_v3_NJ.STL - adds strap to prevent droplet contamination. 8. face_shield_nano_p3dp_v3_NJ_stack_q6.STL - stacks 6 together with 0.3mm gap for optimal protection. 9. face_shield_nano_p3dp_v4_stack_10.STL - stacks 10 face shields together and changes the gap between face and shield to 22mm. This work is inspired by Prusa Research's face shield design: https://blog.prusaprinters.org/from-design-to-mass-3d-printing-of-medical-shields-in-three-days/. In hospitals, face shields and most PPE are disposable due to high costs of cleaning and sterilization. Our design modifies Prusa's face shield to make it a single-use disposable device. Key benefits: 1. Printing time: 40 minutes (3rd of Prusa RC2 2h) 2. Material saving: 13g (less than half of the original Prusa RC2) 3. Total height: 5mm (a quarter of the Prusa RC2) 4. Compatible with Prusa's face shield for easy upgrade. If you want to reuse your face shield, Prusa's design is a better choice due to its wider and more comfortable headband. We are donating 650 masks to our local hospital and may consider selling this face shield on our shop (https://precision-3dprinting.myshopify.com/). We promise to only charge basic printing costs for any COVID-19 protection equipment to keep us going. You can also DIY a face shield at home with a transparent plastic sheet and a hole puncher!
