Covid-19, Coronavirus Mask

I am uploading two masks that I have designed and printed, both reusable and utilizing filter material removed from 3M Merv 13 one-inch-thick pleated filters. One of these was a twelve-by-twelve-by-one-inch filter from Home Depot, requiring safe removal of the pleated filter media. In one mask design, the filter material is used in a mini-pleated configuration, while in the second, it's simply cut into a circle and placed flat within the device. These designs have not been tested or approved by anyone, so use them at your own risk. I will include STP files for both versions to enable modification and improvement. The orange mask in the photos was printed in PLA, with a friction-fit cover holding the filter in place. Foam rubber door weatherstripping serves as the seal against my face, fitted based on a scan of my six-point-four-inch male head. The black-and-white mask, on the other hand, is made from ABS, NYLON, and TPU. The black TPU provides flexibility against the face, while the white nylon offers stiffness to the shell. This design was printed on an Ultimaker S5 using two-material printing. For those without a printer capable of two-material printing, you can combine these components into one file or print them from the same extruder in a single print. If printed with PLA, you can heat up and bend the parts that contact your face to fit. Additional foam weatherstripping or fabric medical tape can be used for a better seal. In Mask Version 1's STP file, you can adjust the lugs, which I initially placed at six positions to test various strap configurations. Rubber bands were used for testing purposes, with plans to use elastic straps or cord for actual use. When printing these masks, it's essential to print them inside-facing up, resulting in a smoother interior and minimized support and print time. The filter pieces and cover should be printed separately, assuming you're familiar with proper orientation; I believe all the STLs are saved in an optimized position. The black-and-white design can easily be scaled since it uses flat filter material, while scaling the orange mask will make it impossible to utilize the manufacturer's pleats.
