This is my major redesign of a previous model, which unfortunately, I was unable to locate online, so I've included the end piece. If you could attach a link to the original maker in comments, I will make sure to add it. As an Architect by trade, I noticed a few areas where improvements could be made to this original design. I added larger attachment points and incorporated a cable management system into the photo, also relocating the inner screw cap directly onto the model itself. Furthermore, I designed additional features that facilitate easy detachment from the plate on the cover. My son, who works for a major distributor, was not initially pleased with the redesign but is now satisfied due to its leak-free performance. However, I had to use Blender to scale it to fit his face, so I've included the Blender model for reference. The original design appears to be based on a 3D scan, which is why I removed the original hooks and replaced them with larger, more robust ones that require no supports during printing. To complete this project, you'll need to print both the mask and the attached cap. For sealing purposes, I recommend using neoprene strips with hot glue to secure both the face and the filter in place. The filter can be either level 13 air filters or old vacuum bags known for their virus-resistant properties. My wife, a nurse, has been working tirelessly amidst the shortage of medical supplies, which is why I decided to jump into action and print these masks. Other nurses have expressed interest in using them as well, citing the significant air gaps present in their current masks as a major concern. The only challenge we've encountered so far is finding an optimal size for this design, which is why I created the lattice Blender model in hopes that it will be useful to others and help keep them safe during these trying times.
