This is an add-on component designed for use with a Brother 2340CV coverstitch machine. The part lines up perfectly with the presser foot, keeping the edge of the fabric snug between the needles as you sew. The finished hem will be approximately 5/8" narrower than usual. It works well with pre-pressed woven fabrics, but knits can be a bit finicky - they tend to shift around a lot, so it's essential to take your time and keep them in place while sewing.
