This is a reference design and implementation. The likelihood of compatibility issues with your existing light switch is extremely high. The majority of my lights run on the Ikea Trådfri system, all controlled by a home automation system. Additionally, some lights are manually controllable using remote switches. I wanted to conceal the original light switches with minimal effort required. The switch cover offers an optional base for the Ikea Trådfri remote switch. This allows the active light switch to remain in its original position on the wall, eliminating the need for taping them there.
