Cover up car cigar lighter sockets with protective covers. Secure power sockets when no cigar lighters are plugged in. Standard protection covers block any stray light from escaping if present. Attach strings for easy removal purposes. Personally, I shield two out of three power sockets on my multi-socket adapter due to aesthetic concerns and fear of foreign objects falling into the socket.
