Cover up pre-drilled holes with this useful tool. Updated August 29, 2018. Use it in your kitchen cabinet to cover peg-holes and keep them clean and more water-resistant (you don't want water in particle-board). Or use it for any other hole you want to cover. It's also usable for cosmetic endcaps for pipes and tubes. It's a tight fit but still removable if desired. The cap is almost fully customizable in the Thingiverse customizer or OpenScad. For convenience, there are four STLs available for 5 mm (Ikea), 6 mm (other brands), and 8 mm (most popular dowel) diameters. Slicing: - Slice it with concentric infill for the best and smoothest result for smaller diameters (less than 12 mm). Printing: - It's a small part, so good bed-adhesion is necessary. - Tested from 5 mm up, all gave a good result. - No support needed. - PLA works fine. Happy covering! *Larger plug-diameters (over 25 mm) are also working (tested at 40 mm). So you can use it for cosmetic end-caps for pipes, for example. Don't make the length of the plug too short for larger diameters or it will snap off. To be safe, and if possible, use a plug-length of at least 15 mm for diameters larger than 20 mm. Update August 28, 2018: cleaned up the scad-file a bit, same functionality. Update August 29, 2018: Plug got loose from the cap with higher diameters (over 30 mm), problem solved. Functionality still the same, also working for larger diameters now.
