This is a straightforward ventilator design focused on one key objective: minimizing costs and production time. For most components, PLA or ABS 3D printable plastic has been chosen because it's both inexpensive and easily manufactured. Food-grade ABS allows for the wet-box to be printed as well. The parts that need third-party manufacturing are the linear actuator, control module, and actual ventilation bag with accessories. The linear actuator features electronic components made from silicon alongside an aluminum housing and shaft. The control module is also constructed using silicon. The ventilator bag is crafted from a flexible yet durable plastic like SEBS, while the check valve at the patient end of the ventilator bag uses PEEP plastic. The base plate can be manufactured from any thin, affordable material that's durable enough. Quarter-inch fasteners will suffice to secure the components together; nut and bolt combinations are preferred for mounting the linear actuator atop the mount plate. The ventilator bag design was adapted from GrabCAD, as well as the linear actuator design courtesy of Tanner Hesterman.
