Couteau à lame pliante
sketchfab
Discovered during excavations of a Roman house in the Trinquetaille neighborhood on the right bank of the Rhône River, this carved bone handle belonged to a small pocketknife. It features a unique design: the oryx, an animal primarily found in Egyptian and Near Eastern deserts. Its representation on this type of object prompts specialists to wonder about the trade and importation into Gaul of luxury goods from the Mediterranean East or their copies.
