Courtyard Complex - A smaller rectangular tower stands boldly opposite the complex's main tower, its defensive features etched into vertical walls that mirror those of the main structure. Measuring a substantial 24 feet tall, this tower boasts a robust framework built from beachrock and coral, meticulously layered into mortar courses. Historical records pinpoint an identical tower in the same location dating back to the 19th century, but with a circular design. Conversely, the building style appears more modern, suggesting it was rebuilt from a previous tower that once occupied its spot. Reimagining the Past: Groundbreaking research, meticulous data collection, and precise 3D model reconstruction at Al-Jazirah Al Hamra are spearheaded by the EFRG of the American University of Sharjah's College of Architecture, Art and Design. This pioneering initiative is generously supported and funded through a generous grant.
