SMR Number ARM 026:015 Coords: 54.154286 -6.369761 Map: http://binged.it/1OyZAfS A dramatic 'trapezoidal' court tomb from the Neolithic Period (4000–2500 BC) stretches 28.3m long and 9m wide at its narrow end. In 1962, an excavation uncovered a 3-segment gallery opening onto a nearly enclosed fore-court. The sides are lined with a kerb of stones. To the North, cairn material rises to 2m high and the sides curve outward to envelop the forecourt, which is 6.2m wide and faces NNW. This area is defined by a facade of orthostats that stand 0.8-1.75m high. In the center, two portal stones mark the entrance to the gallery, which measures 7m long and is divided by pairs of jamb stones. (NIEA Sites and Monuments Database).
