Coupling Pockets for Fleischmann 5500
thingiverse
Here's a solution to replace the hooks on your old Fleischmann 5500 tipper trucks "Kipploren" with your favorite couplings. 1. Print two of each part, except for the small middle piece with two holes. 2. Remove the old hooks and some material underneath them. 3. Attach the two large parts and the small middle piece in place (refer to the photos). I use cyanoacrylate glue. 4. Drill a 1 mm hole through the large part and the metal plate at the bottom of the car. The hole is already present in the printed part. 5. Prepare the NEM 362 pockets by filing them with a drill or small file if your printer has trouble with tight tolerances and overhangs for closing the pocket. Clean the hole for the pin using a 1 mm drill. 6. Glue 0.3 mm piano wire into the pockets using cyanoacrylate, ensuring it's aligned properly. 7. Install the pockets and secure them with 7 mm long pins made from 1 mm piano wire. You may need to use hot glue (not cyanoacrylate) because it will flow along the pin and block coupling movement.
