I'm designing a crucial coupling device that links a motor directly to a drive shaft on a cranial perforator machine. My inspiration stems from a colleague's innovative senior design project, which unfortunately came with a hefty price tag due to the high cost of manufacturing. However, utilizing 3D printing technology, I've been able to significantly reduce production costs, bringing the expense down to approximately sixty cents per unit in PLA material alone.
