CounterBore Holder - Inch and Metric
prusaprinters
<p><strong>Update June 6, 2022 :</strong> In response to some comments I received on the initial version of these holders, I have added two additional versions (both inch and metric) which provide for mounting screws on either the top or front of the holders. The top screw holes provide for mounting to a larger base for more stability, and the front mounting holes are for wall mounting. Please note that while I am providing STL files for these new versions, I have not printed them myself so they are un-tested by me.</p><p> </p><p>These holders are for commonly sold counter-bore sets in both inch and metric sizes. Since there is no guarantee that the shaft sizes for these sets will all be uniform, I have included a table showing the shaft sizes for the two sets for which I made these holders.</p><p>The two holders are the same width, and are each labeled via filament switching.</p><p> </p><figure class="table"><table><thead><tr><th style="text-align:center;" colspan="2">INCH SIZES</th><th style="text-align:center;" colspan="2">METRIC SIZES</th></tr><tr><th style="text-align:center;width:100px;">Counterbore</th><th style="text-align:center;width:100px;">Shaft (in)</th><th style="text-align:center;width:100px;">Counterbore</th><th style="text-align:center;width:100px;">Shaft (mm)</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td style="background-color:#40C8E818;text-align:center;">#6</td><td style="text-align:center;">7/32</td><td style="background-color:#40C8E818;text-align:center;">M3</td><td style="text-align:center;">5.5</td></tr><tr><td style="background-color:#40C8E818;text-align:center;">#8</td><td style="text-align:center;">1/4</td><td style="background-color:#40C8E818;text-align:center;">M4</td><td style="text-align:center;">8</td></tr><tr><td style="background-color:#40C8E818;text-align:center;">#10</td><td style="text-align:center;">5/16</td><td style="background-color:#40C8E818;text-align:center;">M5</td><td style="text-align:center;">8</td></tr><tr><td style="background-color:#40C8E818;text-align:center;">1/4</td><td style="text-align:center;">3/8</td><td style="background-color:#40C8E818;text-align:center;">M6</td><td style="text-align:center;">12.7</td></tr><tr><td style="background-color:#40C8E818;text-align:center;">5/16</td><td style="text-align:center;">7/16</td><td style="background-color:#40C8E818;text-align:center;">M8</td><td style="text-align:center;">12.7</td></tr><tr><td style="background-color:#40C8E818;text-align:center;">3/8</td><td style="text-align:center;">1/2</td><td style="background-color:#40C8E818;text-align:center;">M10</td><td style="text-align:center;">12.7</td></tr><tr><td style="background-color:#40C8E818;text-align:center;">1/2</td><td style="text-align:center;">1/2</td><td style="background-color:#40C8E818;text-align:center;">M12</td><td style="text-align:center;">15.85</td></tr></tbody></table></figure><h4>Print Instructions</h4><p>Print in PLA using the 3mf or gcode files provided; in general :</p><ul><li>2 perimeters</li><li>5% rectilinear infill</li><li>no supports required</li></ul><p>Note that the counter-bore labels are designed to print in a contrasting color via filament switching (I used yellow text on a gray base).</p><h4>CAD</h4><p>The OnShape 3D CAD files for these are here :</p><p><a href="https://cad.onshape.com/documents/62071b0a8a3e8b9039618306/w/5269cbd861c736bcae37e46f/e/e7a9fa9343d545a905914b9f">https://cad.onshape.com/documents/62071b0a8a3e8b9039618306/w/5269cbd861c736bcae37e46f/e/e7a9fa9343d545a905914b9f</a></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p>
