Counter Rotating Propellers - proof of concept v.1
thingiverse
For now, this is just a proof of concept demonstrating how counter-rotating propellers can be driven. The complete mechanics to print are not yet available; I am actively working on it. Version 1: Movement enters through the red axle on the right and passes through the hollow green axle. This movement is reversed by the blue beveled gear, which then exits through the green axle. Version 1a: Movement enters through the blue axle and drives the red and green gears and their axles in opposite directions simultaneously. To see this concept in action, visit https://youtu.be/0EKPofeld98 or http://youtu.be/gftu1wg7P0g. The idea behind counter-rotating propellers is to eliminate the torque of a single propeller. This could be an intriguing enhancement for the Toypedo (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:932180) or other similar projects.
