Cosplay Snap Plates (Tandy Line 24)

I am building a set of Stormtrooper armor and needed a way of attaching the inner strapping. Most people make snap plates from scrap plastic or use nylon webbing (which the snaps can tear out of over time). I decided to make a simple file to print instead so I could save time and have all my straps and snaps interchangeable.

I made these to fit Tandy Line 24 snaps. These do not fit Dritz snaps but they may fit other brands that I haven't tried yet.

The recess on the back of the plate allows for the snap back to sit flush with the rest of the plate so that it will glue on flush to your project/costume.

Edit 5-21-2020: I have remade the file in Fusion 360 to include a 1 hole plate. The original version was made in Tinkercad so it was a bit wonky. Dimensions are the same and will be backwards compatible though.

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

Prusa

Printer:

i3 MK2S

Rafts:

No

Supports:

No

Infill:

20

Notes:

PETG, .2 mm layer height, 3 perimeters, 5 solid layers top, 4 solid layers bottom, 20% Grid infill.

Print off a couple test plates and try them with your snaps so you can scale it in your slicer to fit better if needed. <<

Category: Other
