Cosplay light up ring

This project was designed specifically for a Panto in the UK, where space inside the hollow gem allows for two LED's to be connected in series. I salvaged white LEDs from a low-cost torch/flashlight and chose to reuse them. All parts should fit together as shown in the accompanying pictures. The part labeled switch stopper is optional; it prevents the switch from being pushed back into the ring body when the button is pressed. The battery contacts are simply made from capacitor legs that are 0.8mm thick, or about 0.03 inches. They should be bent to fit and have a slight hump where they make contact with the battery. The wires can be super glued in place, as well as the non-contact parts of the battery contacts. I found it best to orient the batteries with the positive terminal facing down and wired accordingly, ignoring the orientation shown in the picture featuring the ring with IKEA on top - this should be Ikea-side down instead. I salvaged a switch from an old monitor control panel; you may need to find something similar. The printed power button simply glues onto the switch when it is placed. The printed layer above the switch might not print at all, as it's very thin, but it's not crucial. The ring takes two CR 2032 batteries in a slide-out tray with a small angled groove on top to facilitate gripping the battery tray. I discovered that accidentally inserting the batteries backwards has no adverse effect on the LED's. I covered my LED's with a transparent red candy wrapper. Colored LEDs should be an option, provided you ensure they can handle 3 volts each without overloading. It's essential to note that the battery assembly provides 6 volts, so make sure your chosen LEDs can handle this combination. I used natural PLA filament for the gem and gold for most of the other parts. I recommend a 0.1mm layer height for most parts, leaving you to decide on the rest of the settings according to your preference. This ring is quite large, and the switch I used was intended for manual operation. If desired, you could feed wires into the ring through the switch hole to use an external battery supply. Enjoy! A shameless plug: Ikea sells CR 2032 batteries very cheaply, approximately £1 for 8 in the UK.
