Discovered in Alberta, Canada by Barnum Brown in 1911, the Corythosaurus means 'helmet lizard' due to its helmet-like crest on the head - possibly used for defense, cooling down or attracting females. Interestingly, this dinosaur's nostrils rose through the crest, aiding better smelling abilities. With an impressive length of 33 feet, 7 feet height at the hips and weighing around 5 tons, Corythosaurus was a herbivore that fed on plant materials like gingkos, conifers, pines, pine needles, and cycads with twigs forming a significant part of its diet.
