Corvo's Folding Blade [Functional]
thingiverse
This detailed, exact replica of Corvo's blade from Dishonored is built directly from the in-game model. A slight modification was made to shorten the blade so that it fits inside the handle since the depicted blade is absurdly long! Consult the instructions tab for step-by-step guidance on assembling the model. CAUTION: This replica is designed for use as a prop and not as a real weapon. Although the blade is blunt, its pointy tip could inflict injury through puncture. Instructions To ensure the best results, we employed a 0.2 mm layer height and 10% infill for all parts. We strongly recommend using a raft and supports for the Blades, Handle, and Claw components. For optimal print quality, use no supports or only minimal ones for the Latch piece. Take a look at this illustration: http://oi58.tinypic.com/2mesl5w.jpg which showcases how to assemble this model, or continue reading the instructions below. Required items: • The complete printed kit consisting of 5 pieces • Super Glue • A paperclip • Fishing Line • Extra filament for added detail (~11.6 cm long) 1. Print all components and carefully remove support materials (be certain to clean out the inside of the handle and any supporting structures surrounding the claw parts.) 2. Eliminate loose strands of filament from the larger blade part, and then smooth out the edge using fine-grit sandpaper so that it glides effortlessly into its partner. 3. Carefully push the smaller blade piece into the main blade part; it may require some force. 4. Create a fishing line loop to secure it with the handle's back by means of both available holes. 5. Insert the main blade segment completely and verify notches aligning correctly on blade matching slots on handle for accurate connection; subsequently firmly pressing these two together will achieve optimal, fluid motion. In case blade retraction works flawlessly, connect latch to rear component first; push a small paper clip partially inside the designated side-hole, cutting off surplus once the item stops being pushed; ensure not too many twists get in this fragile setup before moving to step seven – attaching paperclip requires applying extra pressure sometimes if sticking isn’t successful initially; super-glueing tip slightly afterwards allows pushing into hole until done correctly and stays fast without slipping again completely next action! After completing latch positioning according instructions carefully given so far move ahead tying appropriate section length from excess printing through necessary matching small parts' holes properly align with those specific slotting sections on main structure found located at rear edge portion, press small claws pieces together then fit snug onto slots securely held tightly; do remember no additional bonding beyond mere insertion for better flexibility & less overall weight in assembly build
