The Deeside Field Club erected a 12ft high granite pillar at this site in 1951 to honor the 1562 battle of Corrichie between the Earls of Gordon and Moray (NJ60SE0001). The Gaelic inscription on the monument reads, "Remember the day of Corrichie."
