Coronavirus Covid-19 Medal
thingiverse
People need to stay positive during these challenging times, especially in our battle against Covid-19. Whether it's someone who has recovered from Covid-19 or a healthcare worker on the front lines fighting for patients' lives, a small gesture can make all the difference. We've created this medal in two versions: "Survivor" and "Fighter," to help boost morale. For dual-extrusion and multi-color printers, we've made .STL files available at https://voltpot.com/shopping-place, with an exclusive $5 discount code for Thingiverse community members: THNGV-19 (use this code at checkout). We printed the model using PLA and found that a minimum infill rate of 40% produces better results, particularly for top flat layers. We recommend using the lowest layer height allowed by your machine. We tested the model with 0.08mm, 0.16mm, and 0.2mm layers while activating "adaptive layer height" in Cura slicer. To link the badge and medal together, use a small key ring or multicolored braided strings. Alternatively, print out a custom ring design. We used a pink ring found in our office for demonstration purposes; however, we'll try printing this model to see how it works: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:526789. We attached a small magnet to the back of the badge to allow hanging the medal as shown in the pictures. You can also glue a brooch pin if desired. Thank you for considering printing this model for your loved ones! We'd love to hear how it works out in the comments below.
