Corners - A Strategic Board Game

Here's a board game called Corners. You can play it with any old chess board and a variety of tokens, or you can simply print out the designs I've created for that purpose. This is a two-player game which is absolutely a blast to play, extremely simple to learn, and takes only 10-20 minutes to get through it. Here's how you play: Arrange the tokens in a 4x3 rectangle at opposite corners of the board. Each player then takes turns moving their tokens around the board with one very straightforward goal: move your pieces from where they start out to where the opponent's pieces are located. You can only move one square at a time, and don't even think about trying to go diagonally - that's just not allowed! But you do get to make more than one jump per turn, so be sure to take full advantage of those combo-jump opportunities when you've got them lined up. Just remember that you can only move once during each turn, and always keep an eye out for chances to clear a whole path through your opponent's pieces with just the right moves! Continue taking turns until either player gets all their starting pieces back on the board where they started from. The first one to do this wins the game flat-out. I've got a series of pictures posted online that show exactly what an example gameplay looks like after the first 10 turns, so be sure to check those out if you're still having some trouble with jumping! By the way, keep in mind that it was actually my opponent who made the first move during that particular game. When it comes time to print your Corners board and tokens, just be aware that no supports are required at all - 3D printing couldn't get any simpler than this. And speaking of printing, do try to come up with two separate sets of tokens, ideally in different colours! But hey, if you're stuck without two different colors on hand, you can easily substitute a pair of differently-shaped pieces, use chessmen or even simple paper cutouts - there are loads of creative options to explore.
