Corner Structure Base Remix to make parametric for US or IE version
thingiverse
I thought this design seemed like a solid idea, so decided to make it parametric in case I decide to print these. Since I haven't printed this part out yet, I don't know how well it actually works. The variables you can easily change should be thoroughly documented. Only the first three variables will need to be changed between the US & IE version of the MPCNC. You could use different numbers here, but you might have to adjust some other variables as a result. You can vary the number of tightening bolt holes on each axis. One, two, or three holes for Z and one or two holes on X & Y are all options. Cyl_ID = 23.5; // IE version 25mm Cyl_OD = 35.5; // IE version 37mm Z_Cyl_Len = 40.75; // IE version 42.25mm The Small_Hole and M5Nut_OD variables are for the Bolt Tightening Hole & Nut trap. The other M5 variables relate to the one vertical hole through the base. It appears that the four pipes you cut for these will be three point zero one inches (76.5mm) shorter for US version and seventy-eight millimeters shorter for IE version than your MPCNC X & Y axis pipes, but verify this for yourself before cutting the pipes. Thanks are due to Arcade_Machine for this design idea. This is remixed from his part: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1469028 I was unable to get the Thingiverse search to find this part to link it with the Remix source files. I will try again in the next day or so. I enjoyed this little puzzle of making this design parametric. Let me know if you experience any problems with variables not working correctly. Update: Rev5: Added an option for three support holes to work table instead of just one hole. The variable for that is SupportHole_Qty. Set it to one or three for the number of holes. I also added another simple part for the horizontal pipes to rest on in case they sag a little on a long run. The OpenSCAD file for this is HorizontalPipeRest.scad. I also included an STL file for the US & IE version.
