Corner for enclosure
thingiverse
I'm constructing an enclosure for my Ender 3 and needed a secure way to connect wood panels. A rapid search yielded no satisfactory results, so I designed my own in Tinkercad. It's intended for 6mm thick panels and a preliminary test with 80x80 cm squares indicates it's fairly robust. Printing takes about 2 hours and 15 minutes, which is still excessive considering I need at least five more (I'm thinking of creating an alternative version for the frontal panel). Update: Avoid using these clips for top corners! A test fit revealed they're not strong enough when installed upside down. Update 2: Untested, but I've added "Enclosure Top" and "Enclosure Top Door" to use at the enclosure's top. They need to be printed without modification to prevent layer separation issues, which caused failure initially. If you print multiple clips simultaneously, they're still easy to distinguish due to design variations – bottom clips have a reinforcement triangle, top ones don't but are thicker overall, and door clips have a missing section for panel sliding. Also, the door clip requires a mirrored version. Update 3: I've printed and tested the top corners, and they work as expected! As shown in pictures, I even placed weight on the top panel – a 1.5-liter water bottle (with a box underneath to distribute the load) – and it held securely without stressing the wood panel excessively.
