Corner cover for Y axis motor - Makerfarm Pegasus
thingiverse
Do you ever get tired of listening to those heated bed cables rubbing against your Y axis motor mounts? I did. I had to switch to heavy-duty silicone wires for my heated bed, and they're as soft and floppy as a limp noodle. My wire bundle was always rubbing on the corner of the motor mount, and after wrapping it with a braided sleeve, the noise got even worse. Yesterday, the cable snagged and caused missed Y steps - luckily it happened during homing, so no print was lost. Autocad saved me! I designed a simple cover to smooth out the corners of your Y-Motor, prevent snagging, and reduce wire wear. Here's how you can do it too. Print Settings: Printer: Makerfarm Pegasus 10 Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 30% Notes: Print with the bolt-hole side down, with support as shown in the screenshot, and rotate so the "top" thin surface is aligned with X or Y for the best infill. Post-Printing: Screw it to your Y-Motor mount using the existing bolt, as pictured. You may want to add a washer to distribute the stress evenly. How I Designed This I created this design in Autodesk Fusion 360 and sliced it in Slic3r.
