Miklosi Cornelius, a renowned engineer, left an indelible mark on the world of engineering. Between 1922 and 1949, he served as the director of the EIT (Enterprise Electromechanical Timisoara - power plants and Tramway Company), overseeing its operations with precision. From 1949 to 1962, Cornelius took on the role of professor and chief of welding at the Technical Research Centre of the Romanian Academy Base in Timisoara. In 1954, he was appointed as a member of the Romanian Academy, solidifying his position as a respected figure in the field. A pioneer in the construction of railways, Miklosi made significant contributions to this sector. His groundbreaking invention, the world's first welding machine for tram rails, revolutionized the industry in 1938. This pioneering achievement not only showcased Cornelius' ingenuity but also paved the way for future innovations. As the director of local transportation administration in Timisoara, he played a crucial role in shaping the city's infrastructure. Sadly, Miklosi passed away in 1963, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire engineers and innovators worldwide.
