Corkscrew Rocket
thingiverse
The spacecraft soared through the atmosphere, its sleek design slicing through the air like a hot knife through butter. Aboard, astronaut Jack Harris gripped the armrests of his chair tightly as the ship shuddered and lurched, throwing him off balance. "Hold on to your seat," crackled the voice of Mission Control over the comms system. "We're experiencing some turbulence." Harris nodded, even though he knew no one could see him. He had been warned about this part of the journey, but nothing could have prepared him for the intense forces that were buffeting the ship. The rocket corkscrewed through the clouds, its engines roaring as it struggled to maintain altitude. Harris felt his stomach drop as they plummeted downwards, the G-force pushing him deep into his seat. "Level out," he heard Mission Control say, and the ship responded sluggishly, fighting against the downward momentum. The engines whined and groaned as they strained to lift the spacecraft back up into the air. Harris's knuckles were white as he clenched the armrests, his heart racing with every jolt and lurch of the ship. This was not what he had signed up for when he became an astronaut. As suddenly as it had begun, the turbulence ceased, and the ship leveled out into a steady climb. Harris let out a sigh of relief, his muscles relaxing as the G-force dissipated. "Welcome back to smooth flying," said Mission Control with a chuckle. "We're glad you made it through that rough patch." Harris smiled wryly, still feeling a bit shaken from the experience. He knew he wasn't alone in his relief - every member of the crew was grateful for the ship's steady flight after the wild ride they had just endured. The rocket continued on its journey, leaving the turbulent weather behind as it soared into the clear blue sky.
