Cork Painting Assistant
thingiverse
I paint intricate miniatures and enjoy wine. Using corks as handles for painting miniatures seemed like a clever way to utilize an abundant resource. A small amount of blue tack was all I needed to get started. However, I soon discovered that old corks tend to crumble when attempting to remove the blue tack, while newer, cheaper corks are made from rubbery material that does not adhere well to the adhesive. If not handled carefully, some miniatures became top-heavy and would topple over. As 3D printing experts, designing a base and top cap is a straightforward task that can be completed quickly and easily. These components transform corks into efficient painting assistants or handles. A small amount of glue is all it takes to secure them in place, making this solution simple, accessible, and highly functional.
