CoreXY Scaler
thingiverse
This OpenSCAD script allows users to scale Ilan E. Moyer's CoreXY system according to their desired printing or cutting envelope, with the reference implementation claiming a 6-inch by 4-inch size. To adjust the envelope, change xtravel and ytravel variables. Upon rendering (F5), ensure that the design looks correct at the new scale. Dimensions of essential components like belts and shafts are reported in the console, which can be used to modify the bill of materials or adjust the envelope for compatibility with available parts. For 2D cut patterns of scaled parts and other aluminum/acrylic pieces, set as_DXF to true and render using CGAL (F6). Exporting as DXF is possible from the Design menu. The kerf variable enables design adjustments for cutting with wider tools than a waterjet while maintaining nesting capabilities. Although not yet used for machining, DXF output serves as a starting point for preparing machinable patterns.
