Hi guys! Check out my self-made printer - this is what I've come up with! I went for a CoreXY setup, as seen at corexy.com, along with a bowden configuration that really adds a lot of potential to it. My build volume clocks in at 300x300x280mm. This baby takes up around 58x51x51cm, but don't let its size fool you - it's got real power behind those dimensions! To make the Z axis super smooth, I opted for SFU1204 ballscrew components. For the cables, I used synchromesh wires, which help prevent tangles and kinks. To take tensioning to the next level, I even incorporated guitar-style strings - talk about precision! I chose 10mm rods for the X axis and beefed up my Y axis with a sturdier 12mm rod. Diego Porqueras also helped inspire me with his fantastic Bukobot Vanilla V2 design, and I drew from Whosa whatsis's innovative approach to linear bearing holds. The majority of the parts I sourced were found on AliExpress or at Misumi, but don't be surprised if you spot some one-off, custom made aluminum pieces laser cut just for this project! As soon as it's assembled and all systems are go, I'll post up the BOM complete with files for those custom components - stay tuned! Oh yeah, and don't forget about my sneaky Z-axis hack; that modification dropped just yesterday.
