Core XY PrntQB

thingiverse

My latest project is a remix of http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:161000 by ichibey, featuring core XY operation instead of Hbot. I've posted Sketchup design files and build progress photos. The Z table boasts a smooth, rigid performance, thanks to an 8mm stainless steel studding leadscrew and UHMW nut. Both X & Y carriages run on 8mm ground rods with LM8UU bearings for support. The build platform is equipped with 10mm ground rod and 4 LM10UU bearings, which will be replaced with printed bearings once the machine is up and running. A J Head bowden hot end with Greg's Wade extruder and herringbone gears has been installed for ease of adding multiple heads in the future. The build volume is approximately 200mm x 200mm x 155mm, aiming for delta-like speeds with cartesian precision. I'm awaiting the arrival of remaining parts. Stay tuned for updates and images! Andy
