To hold filament, use cord reels from Home Depot that fit atop your machine. However, they may hit the extruder and potentially fall off. A solution is clips designed for Thing-O-Matic; attach them to the top of your makerbot, snap in a 50mm raised cord reel, and choose between printing two 6mm or 19mm thick STLs for sturdiness. Use Commercial Electric 150ft reels (PN 280-984), and modify the openscad file as desired.
