Cord Manager

Cord Manager

This cord organizer is designed for shorter, thinner cords like headphones or lightning cables. It has a compact shape that conceals the cord while recommended to be carried in a bag since holding it in pocket can be uncomfortable. After numerous prototype samples, I have determined that using a cylinder divided into two parts - one a hollow cylinder for the cable and the other a cap to secure it - is the most effective design. Past designs involving pegs to hold it together were not successful, so I opted for a single large extrusion from the cylinder instead. This larger extrusion makes designing, printing, and using the organizer easier. I later modified the piece that now serves as the cap, changing it from an identical second half with an indent instead of an extrusion. This change saves filament and allows for a more appealing aesthetic by not wrapping the sides of the cap all the way around. The cord manager is approximately 2.7 cm tall, with an outer radius of 3 cm and an inner diameter of 2 cm. My design effectively keeps my cord in place, making it easy to find where I need it, while also hiding it from sight to maintain a neat appearance.
