Cord Holder with a magnet
thingiverse
The slot for the magnet measures 7.3 x 3mm, making it a perfect fit for a 7mm neodymium magnet secured with a bit of super glue or epoxy glue. Positioning the magnet on top allows gravity to pull its center below, ensuring natural hanging. The channel's 1.5-degree angle could have been more effective at 2 or 2.5 degrees, but in theory, this should keep the cable in place, although cord thickness may alter the dynamics. Tests with USB cables and a ThinkPad power cord showed promising results, particularly since the power cord features a ferrite bead that aligns perfectly with the magnet, keeping it securely stuck due to their 1mm separation. The magnetic force is strong enough to hold everything in place without being overpowering. V2 boasts dual magnet holes for added versatility, although one hole suffices; this update also increases the channel's angle, resulting in a 4mm wide top gap.
