Cord / Cable Coiler

The Cable Keeper is a compact and straightforward solution for keeping your power cords, Ethernet cables, and other cords organized and easy to manage. By using the Cable Keeper, your cords will be neatly stored away, making it simple to uncoil only the length you need at any given time. This allows you to secure the excess cord temporarily, preventing it from unraveling further. In use, the Cable Keeper enables you to coil the length used back up after completing your task. The design also features rails that serve as handles, making it effortless to carry your coiled cords and cables. This makes keeping your cords organized a breeze, while also ensuring safety by eliminating excess cable on the floor, which can cause trips and falls. The Cable Keeper's size has been optimized to perform its function efficiently without consuming too much filament or taking an excessive amount of time to print (approximately 30gm, depending on version and print settings). Please note that a center brace has been added to minimize distortion when coiling the cord tightly, which may result in a slightly different print than the images shown. Size guide: Large: suitable for power cords with diameters between 7.25mm and 7.5mm Medium: designed for power cords and computer cabling with diameters between 6.25mm and 6.5mm Small: ideal for Ethernet cables and computer cables with diameters between 5.0mm and 5.25mm Cord/Cable Lengths: The amount of cable that can be coiled varies depending on the cord/cable diameter and how neatly/tightly it is coiled. However, all Cable Keepers will take at least 5M of cable. For example, if you have a 6M long cord/cable and only need about 3M for a specific purpose, simply leave the remaining 3M coiled. The Cable Keeper works by separating the cable into two sections. Firstly, isolate up to 1M of cable (short end) by clipping it into the center retainers. The short end is the length available to plug into a wall socket. With the short end secured, you can coil it in the narrow coiling channel. Once the length is almost fully coiled, lock the end of the cable into the nearest end retainer on the narrow coiling channel side (refer to images). Now, coil the long end of the cord/cable by winding it neatly into the wide coiling channel. Coil from one side to the other, back and forth, until the free length is almost all coiled into the wide coiling channel. Lock the end of the cable into the nearest end retainer on the wide coiling channel side (refer to images). Note: It's not recommended to coil cords/cables too tightly. Manufacturers of power cords advise against using tightly coiled cables for extended periods due to heat buildup and other risks. The Cable Keeper is a practical solution for everyday problems, easy to print, doesn't use much filament, and doesn't take long to print... start getting your cords and cables under control today!
