Corbeau Bretonnian Infantry
thingiverse
Fifth piece of the Bretonnian Army, I've been pondering foot soldiers for weeks now. I'm well aware that standard armies typically feature a small number of infantrymen and a plethora of cavalry, but I hail from a bygone era where Bretonnian Armies were comprised largely of peasants and troopers. After several weeks of intense research, I stumbled upon an expertly designed medieval soldier model that served as the perfect foundation for my project. By dissecting it into individual components, I was able to achieve a superior outcome and maintain complete control over the quality of each part. The legs are already mounted on a square base, which can be easily detached if needed, while the torso, arms, head, and helmet must be printed separately to accommodate various poses. You can also repurpose old arms from legitimate miniatures or reuse existing heads – I did just that for the leader and standard bearer figures. Note that weapons are not included in this design; instead, I opted to utilize toothpicks as makeshift spears, lances, or halberds, while a curved piece of PLA filament serves as a viable bow alternative. In my opinion, printing high-quality weapons with PLA is a challenge due to the material's inherent limitations and inconsistent results. The helmet effectively conceals most of the face, making facial details somewhat less crucial, but I'm sure you can imagine where they would be located.
