Coral Stand

Coral Stand

Human: Coral fragments are often propagated on small ceramic discs. This three-dimensional model is designed to elevate corals so they receive more intense light. The legs on this design are approximately 120mm, or five inches, but can be easily adjusted in z-scale or sawed off if necessary. Update: October 11, 2015 I've updated the model to angle the legs slightly for better stability. I found that my clown fish like to rub against the original design, knocking it over. Updated: October 18, 2015 The diameter of the hole has been increased to 7/16 inches to match the size of the ceramic disc more closely. Print Settings: Brand: Printrbot Printer Model: Simple Black Rafts: No supports were used. Resolution: The print resolution was set to 0.2mm. Infill: A solid infill pattern was chosen to prevent the model from floating in water. Notes: I printed this design with a solid infill to ensure it does not float when submerged in an aquarium tank.
