Coral Court Street Sign

Coral Court Street Sign

This sign is a companion model to the Coral Court Motel created by kabrumble. Located on historic Route 66 outside St Louis and listed in the National Register of Historic Places, the Coral Court had a reputation for discretion, whether one rented by the week, day or hour. The decal for this sign is available in PowerPoint format at https://github.com/daackm/daackm.github.io/blob/master/BVD%20Decals.pptx (then click "View Raw" or "Download"). I use White Waterslide decal paper available from Amazon to print my decals on an ink jet printer. After allowing decals to dry overnight, I spray them with a coat of automotive lacquer. Again, I let the decals dry overnight. It takes about 17 seconds for the decals to separate from the backing when submerged in a water bath. After the decals are set, I paint the edges of the structure with flat black paint and seal the final product again in clear lacquer.
