Coptic Epiphany Lantern (Seisa)
thingiverse
The Coptic Epiphany Lantern is a cultural ornament used in Egypt to celebrate the baptism of the Lord Jesus on January 19th. Some people called "Balabeesa", but in my family we've always known it as "Seisa". Traditionally it is made up of an carved orange with 3 symbols carved around; a cross, a triangle representing the Holy Trinity and a dove representing the Holy Spirit. A candle is placed in the middle and the orange is traditionally hung with 3 wires on a stick of sugar cane. Since I have a 3D printer, I thought I'd create one just for fun. Nothing can replace the real thing. I just created the cover, but haven't printed yet so I don't know how it will come out. I put two versions. One with an opening on the cover top so if a candle is used the heat doesn't melt the top. (Be careful if you try it with a candle, otherwise you can use it for decoration) I will add more pictures later when I use it. Enjoy
