Copt Howe / Langdale Boulders Rock Art

Copt Howe / Langdale Boulders are prehistoric carved rocks located just outside the village (northwest) of Chapel Stile, Cumbria, England. The rock art consists of various pecked lines, ring marks, cup marks and some patterns. Natural circular or sub-circular depressions may have be modified, but are more often incorporated into the rock art. There is some more modern graffiti. This rock is known as Boulder 1 (or A) it has a large panel of rock art and a smaller panel. Excavations carried out by Dr Aaron Watson and Professor Richard Bradley in 2018 revealed further rock art buried beneath the present land surface. The two panels are separated by a relatively recent wall, I wanted to get both panels in the same model to help show how they relate to each other. I’m not entirely happy with the model in that I ended up with some holes, although luckily these don’t appear to be where there are decorated surfaces.
