Copper Pipes, Type K,L,M - Design table configurable - Based on ASTM B88 standard Common copper pipe sizes used in the home, residential, buildings, construction industry, etc. in the USA, Canada, and apparently India. There are two CAD models with multiple configurations in each one. The first model is for annealed (soft) copper pipes and the second model is for drawn (hard) copper pipes. The CAD models should cover most if not all sizes that are offered in industry. I made a weldment profile and a CAD model as well for those that may not have weldment/routing features with their version of Solidworks. The CAD model will need to have various lengths added to it as needed via design tables. Don't forget to properly ground your copper piping in order to avoid pinhole leaks. There is equipment out there to prevent this. Here is a site for reference to the issue: https://www.electriciantalk.com/f29/leaky-pipes-13195/ Zip files with parasolid and step files have been added as well. The ASTM B88 standard was a bit weird to me. The assigned tolerances to the outer diameter of the pipe and wall thicknesses create a tolerance stack-up. This poses a danger, as one can easily overlook these tolerances when trying to mate up and design different pipe sizes to other components such as tees, elbows, end caps, etc.... They could have avoided this by assigning tolerances to the inner diameter rather than the wall thickness. Maybe they had their reasons. It would also be nice if the dimensions were just nominal numbers without decimals, like 22 mm or 10 mm, or even no need to take dimensions to two, three decimal places, etc... However, the US plumbing/industry system is too deeply entrenched in the Imperial system of measurement. Link to other copper pipe components that I'll add more components to when I get more time: Copper Pipe Components I will try to upload copper pipe sizes based on some type of ISO or Europe standard later. Enjoy!
